What factors led you to pursue a career in IT?

I always enjoyed technology and had one of the earliest Interact PCs with a cassette tape drive. IT seemed like a promising career path, even as a teenager.

Did you participate in internships?

During school I worked in the computer lab and as a teaching assistant. I also worked for General Foods in Lafayette troubleshooting and repairing PCs and installing software. During one summer and Christmas break I had an internship with American Management Systems (AMS) in Washington, D.C.

Did you participate in Study Abroad?

Not per se.  However, I did do a practicum with Siemens in Munich, Germany, one summer working on software to recover lost files from hard drives and to test their full line of printers.

What advice would you give to current or prospective CIT students?

Pursue excellence in anything and everything that you do. This will differentiate you from your peers in the work place. Success rarely depends upon which tool or methodology is employed. Rather, it is the excellence, follow-through, attention to detail and other personal qualities of the individuals working on a project, with whatever tool or methodology has been chosen, that lead to success or failure.
