Every new student whether beginning freshman or transferring to Purdue University College of Technology Columbus MUST attend an orientation session.
During the session you will:
- Learn valuable information about Purdue University College of Technology
- View Financial Aid
- Register for classes
If you have received your admissions letter from West Lafayette, you will need to schedule your placement test and new student orientation.
Schedule your placement test at least 2 weeks before orientation by calling 812-348-7271. Before you can take the placement test, you need to have your Request for Placement Testing form from PU Student Services or they will not allow you to start the testing.
After you have scheduled your placement test, you can call 812-348-2025 to schedule your new student orientation. Our recommendation is that you attend an orientation session as early as possible. This will enable you to register for the schedule that works best for you. The longer you wait to attend, the greater the risk that the classes you need will be closed.
Because you are a Purdue College of Technology student at an IU campus, you will have an IU account and a Purdue account. Set up your IU username and passphrase at least a day before your orientation date. Go to itaccounts.iu.edu. Click on create my first account and follow the instructions. To set up your Purdue account, you will need to follow the instructions on your admissions letter. Both need to be set up before orientation. Please remember these account logins.
