College of Technology Career Fair

North and South Ballrooms of the Purdue Memorial Union

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the College of Technology, we are mixing it up this year!  We have made some significant changes to the format of the 2014 CoT Career Fair with consideration of the evaluation survey results by participating companies from the past year and with the hope of continually improving our event. 

Changes for 2014 include: 

  • A brunch and networking opportunities for the employers with the leadership of the College of Technology as part of the morning agenda
  • Partnering with the Center for Career Opportunities (CCO) for registration. The CCO uses the NACELink system with Software by Symplicity that allows companies to:
    • Register and post jobs all in one system
    • Interact online with students prior to and following the career fair
    • Have six (6) weeks of access to a student resume database: 1 week prior to fair and 5 weeks following the career fair
    • Choose from three package levels to best meet corporate marketing and recruiting needs: including additional opportunities to advertise in the Career Fair Guide with either half or full page ads 
    • Set up an account that will be stored in the system:
      • Companies may easily choose to attend other Purdue fairs listed in the system
      • Companies may update their information at their discretion
    • Provide students access to the attending company profiles and positions posted in the online Career Fair Guide
    • Review student resumes for a variety of fairs (in addition to the CoT Career Fair)

Registration: The registration deadline is February 18, 2014, or when registration reaches capacity of 105 booths. Registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. Four company representatives per booth are included in the registration fees. Companies may choose to add two additional reps at the cost of $25 per representative. If over six representatives are needed, a second booth will need to be purchased.

8:00 - 9:30 am Check-in/Set-up:  Check in at the entrance to the South Ballroom in the Purdue Memorial Union directly across from the Grant Street Parking Garage.

9:30-11:00 am Boiler Brunch/ Program/ Meet & Greet: A brunch and brief program along with the opportunity to network with the leadership of the College of Technology. Coffee, soft drinks, water, and snacks will be available throughout the day in the Hospitality Room.

11:00 am to 3:00 pm: Students attend the CoT Career Fair

3:00-4:00 pm: Tear down

Interview space: Companies may interview students during the career fair at their company booth or they may request one of the private rooms we have reserved for interviews at no additional cost.  Be sure to note your interest during registration as there are a limited number of rooms.

Electrical provisions: Electrical access will be limited.  If your booth requires electricity please be certain to request it during registration.  Booth assignments will be noted by electrical requirements. Company representatives are responsible for providing extension cords as well as any power strips (25 to 50 ft extension cord is recommended). 

Company hospitality area: The hospitality area will be located outside the south entrance of the Purdue Memorial Union Ballrooms.  Water, coffee, soft drinks, and snacks will be available throughout the fair.   

Visitor Information: The Purdue Visitor Information Web page includes menu items for “Plan Your Visit” and “Find Your Way” for information regarding lodging, maps, directions, parking, restaurants, and local attractions.

Parking: Parking for registered career fair guests will be in the Grant Street Parking Garage across from the Purdue Memorial Union. Parking passes will be provided at check-in. Due to the parking limitations in the garage, only one (1) parking pass per company registration will be automatically issued at check-in. However, if additional parking is needed, please request it during your registration. We will do our best to accommodate your parking needs.
