About the Department
Purdue University’s Department of Aviation Technology is widely recognized as a leader
in aviation education. In support of that quality of our students’ educational experience,
all of Purdue’s Aviation Technology degree programs have been fully accredited by
the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). Additionally, the undergraduate
program in Aeronautical Engineering Technology is accredited by the Engineering
Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET.
About the Faculty
Purdue’s Aviation Technology faculty members have been conducting research involved with various aspects of flight technology as well as flight culture. Research areas include;
- Biofuels testing and development
- Gender issues in the aviation industry
- Evaluation of soy-diesel fuel blends
- High performance turbine operations
- Human factors and crew resource management
