Assistant/Associate Professor - Mechanical Engineering Technology

The School of Engineering Technology at Purdue University has a full-time opening at its Kokomo, Indiana campus, beginning in August 2015. This position is for an Assistant/Associate Professor.

 

Responsibilities include instruction, curriculum development, recruitment, and external engagement and/or applied research. The successful candidate for this position should be able to teach a variety of courses including but not limited to statics & strength of materials, fluid power, computer-aided manufacturing, dynamics, applied fluid mechanics, mechatronics, robotics, and manufacturing processes or other subjects in the MET curriculum. Candidates should have a M.S. or PhD in engineering, engineering technology or a related discipline. Relevant industrial experience and PE license are highly desirable. The candidate should have an interest in traditional and distance learning. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at the undergraduate level, develop curricular materials and laboratory experiences, and promote the Mechanical Engineering Technology degree program through engagement locally and beyond. Prior teaching experience is desirable but not required. Potential candidates are expected to support and be involved in the recruitment and retention of students.

 

About the Purdue Polytechnic Institute at Kokomo: The Purdue Polytechnic resides in nine Indiana communities across the State. The statewide program is part of Indiana's economic engine and provides high quality engineering technology and leadership programs to communities and regions they serve to help keep the existing job base, create new economic opportunities that did not exist before and/or improve the quality of life to the people they serve.
