ProSTAR offerings meet needs of working adult learners

At the end of each calendar year ProSTAR creates an end-of-year summary of information relative to students and academics. This end-of-year summary is subsequently placed on our web site for all to see and review.

The end-of-year summary has a number of interesting snippets of information, for example, in 2014:

  • There were 294 graduate students participating in ProSTAR administered academic programs
  • 29 states and 9 countries were represented by our participants
  • The average undergraduate GPA was 3.2
  • 43 students graduated in 2014
  • The average age of our students was 35
  • There were 161 unique companies represented by the students in our many programs

While this data has remained relatively stable over the years, I am routinely impressed with the average age and number of companies our many students represent. Our student population is composed predominately of professional working adult learners. We would like to think we offer quality educational opportunities for personal and professional growth that would not normally otherwise be available; and most importantly at a very fair price and in a format that lends itself to this cohort of adult learners; this as reported each year by our graduating population.

Most interesting, in talking with those in our many programs, are the comments associated with their individual bigger picture of where they want to be or what they hope to achieve as a result of their earning a master’s degree. Seeing the bigger personal and professional picture is not only the recurring theme, but the key to staying the course when pursuing an advanced degree. This is no different than what I ask myself year in and year out; “what do I want to do with my life, and how do I get there from here?” Planning, as most everyone realizes, is critical to obtaining that future objective or goal.

Where do you want to be in five years? Ten years? Do you have a plan on how to get there? I, as others before and after me, can attest that education should be a key element of that plan.

If you are thinking about your future, or know someone who is, feel free to give us a call. We’d love to talk about the many educational opportunities available to professional working adult learners. Professional opportunities can be plentiful with the proper planning and education.

Call us sometime. We’d love to hear from you!
