Solar Decathlon update - Sept. 21

By Steven Lincoln College of Technology Senior Writer/Editor Wireless has been spotty today, so I've been unable to post anything today. But I've taken lots of tours, taken lots of external and internal photos of the homes, and I have a couple of videos to post as well. Humid in D.C. today and overcast, which is good for those of us lugging computers and cameras. There are several Purdue people here. I've seen the good folks from Purdue News Service video department taking great footage. I've seen Irwin Weiser, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, and of course lots of team members who are getting everything ready for Thursday -- the big opening ceremony! The biggest thing I've noticed about each of the teams is that, even though the homes are designed to run on solar energy, they have been designed to be environmentally friendly on all fronts. There are some great ideas floating around, and I only wish I were more scientific to understand them all fully. More education to come for me, I guess. I have a couple more interviews to do, and then a few posts to compose, so look for more later. If you have questions about the competition you would like me to try to find out, please leave a comment at the end of the post. Thanks, again, for reading!
