Purdue Polytechnic’s Paul Asunda recently finished a year-long endeavor to work with Kazakhstan’s universities to improve STEM pedagogy. Asunda and his partners in Kazakhstan are optimistic that this will lead to a longer relationship that will help Purdue to “give back” to the developing world.

Greg Strimel, a Purdue Polytechnic Institute professor in the Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation, told The Persistent Pursuit that his students choosing to nominate him for a teaching award "means everything" to him.

Purdue Polytechnic's Paul Asunda has been named a 2023-2024 Fulbright U.S. Scholar. He will partner on a project in Kenya designed to help Kenyan schools evaluate and modify how they teach STEM subjects to their students.

Purdue Polytechnic’s Greg Strimel and Bryan Hubbard both received 2023 Murphy Awards, Purdue’s highest undergraduate teaching honor. They joined three other Polytechnic professors who received Murphy Awards within the last six years.

Through new approaches to education and workforce training and development, their ongoing “Future Work and Learning” research aims to empower employees to take charge of their careers and become active, successful professionals and members of society.

Sascha Harrell, director of workforce development and education for Purdue’s Indiana Next Generation Manufacturing Competitiveness Center (IN-MaC), and Purdue Polytechnic’s Greg Strimel are collaborating on the creation of a long-term research project intended to study how industry and education can work together to change children’s perceptions about careers in manufacturing.

Purdue Polytechnic’s Design and Innovation Challenge, a showcase for students to incorporate human-centered design during the creation of working prototypes of new products, went virtual in 2020.
