Wasburn honored with naming of ASEE grant

The Apprentice Educator Grant, sponsored by the ASEE Women in Engineering Division, has been renamed the Mara H. Wasburn Apprentice Educator Grant. The award has been renamed in honor of Mara Wasburn, who previously served as chair of the ASEE Women in Engineering Division. Prior to her passing in March 2011, Wasburn was a professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership and Supervision at Purdue's College of Technology. She had also served as director of development for Purdue University's School of Nursing and was the first director of Purdue's Women's Resource Office. The Mara H. Wasburn Apprentice Educator Grant allows for two recipients to travel to the ASEE Annual Conference. Each grant consists of reimbursement for registration, travel, food, and accommodation expenses up to $2,000. The grant was created to build capacity for the engineering education community through apprenticeship and mentoring to members of the community who are at the entry/launch point of their engineering education career.
