Every new student whether beginning freshman or transferring to Purdue University College of Technology Columbus MUST attend a STAR session.
During the session you will:
- Learn valuable information about Purdue University College of Technology
- View Financial Aid
- Register for classes
If you have received your admissions letter from West Lafayette, you will need to schedule your placement test and STAR session.
Schedule your English placement test at least 2 weeks before STAR by calling 812-348-7271 to schedule. Before you can take the placement test, you need to have your Request for Placement Testing form from PCOT Student Services or they will not allow you to start the testing.
After you have scheduled your placement test, email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule STAR. Our recommendation is that you attend STAR as early as possible. This will enable you to register for the schedule that works best for you. The longer you wait to attend, the greater the risk that the classes you need will be closed.
Your ALEKS Math Assessment test is completed online through your myPurdue account and taken at least 24 hours before STAR.
Because you are a Purdue College of Technology student at an IU campus, you will have an IU account and a Purdue account. Set up your IU username and passphrase at least a day before STAR. Go to itaccounts.iu.edu. Click on create my first account and follow the instructions. To set up your Purdue account, you will need to follow the instructions on your admissions letter. Both need to be set up before orientation. Please remember these account logins.
