Richmond location to showcase programs

Area residents and potential college students are invited to a Purdue Showcase June 19 at Purdue’s College of Technology at Richmond.

Between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m., students and parents will be able to tour the Purdue facilities in Tom Raper Hall on the IU-East campus. They will learn about the Purdue degree options available in Richmond and related career options.

Faculty and staff will be available to answer questions, and organizers have planned a contest for prizes.

“Our location offers programs in computing, engineering technologies, and leadership,” said Mike Swain, director. “A degree in these programs can help graduates become leaders in their chosen career paths. We encourage Ivy Tech students to attend as well to find out about transfer opportunities.”

For over 45 years, Purdue’s College of Technology at Richmond has served as a key contact to area business and industry for customized training, certificate programs, technical support, and applied research assistance through the University. Courses are taught by full-time faculty members and a number of adjunct faculty who offer years of work experience in addition to their academic credentials.
