What specific class helped to prepare you for your new job?
Network Engineering Fundaments really prepared me for my future career. I was able to get real hands-on experiences with the cables used in this course. These experiences can help shape my next steps at my new job. Network Security helped me prepare for my new job by breaking down truly what a firewall is and the importance of correctly implementing one over a network.
Please tell us about a favorite class, project, experience or professor.
My favorite professor was Professor Dawn Laux. As a young woman in a technology field, it felt amazing to see a women professor in my classes to help me further understand the world of technology. She was also willing to help her students whenever they needed. As for teaching through the pandemic in the spring of 2020, though it was not an easy task, she was able to continue to make class engaging and I was able to learn so much despite all of the obstacles.
