Product Engineer for CSI Electronics

Describe your potential job duties

I meet with customers to go over their expectations and the functions of their printed circuit boards. I create board layouts and instructions for the assembly process. I troubleshoot boards that have been returned for functionality issues. I am hopeful in the future that my job will also include designing printed circuit boards for customers. I started in January and I love being an engineer!

In what ways did the Polytechnic and/or Purdue help make you uniquely qualified for your new job?

I am qualified for my job because I now understand how electrical components work and how to use them. I would also say that the time I spent at Purdue taught me how to stay focused and dedicated to a goal.

Who would you like to thank as you finish your time at Purdue and start your career?

My husband and my family. I have been on the path to get my degree for a decade now, and never once did any of them doubt me. Changing my degree in the middle of a program for nursing was a difficult decision, but I have never regretted choosing Purdue Polytechnic for engineering technology. I would also like to thank Doctor Carnes for never giving up on me.

If you had a favorite class, project, experience, or professor, what/who was it, and why?

The friends I made at Purdue Polytechnic will last me a lifetime.  I will never forget the thrill of my first lab in my Intro to Engineering class. The lightbulb lab, seeing the circuitry work, and understanding for the first time what it means to close the loop of a circuit.
